Wanda Frappier Obituary, Death – Wanda E. (Molinelli) Frappier, 87 years old, passed away on May 29, 2023, at her home in The Villages, Florida, following a protracted battle with dementia. On May 20, 1936, she was born on Staten Island, New York, to James E. Molinelli and Rose (Engehausen) Molinelli. She attended Curtis High School and SUNY-Oswego, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
Her parents still reside on Staten Island. She met the man she would spend the rest of her life with, Edmund L. Frappier, while she was a student at Oswego. They wed on June 27, 1959. Tina Simone (Frappier) Baldwin (Ross) and Todd L. Frappier (Darcy) are their two children. Wanda was a kindergarten teacher for almost 20 years in the Wappingers Central School District. She worked at Myers Corners Elementary School, where she captivated successive generations of youngsters with her stories about “Soundie, the Elf” and the “Good Witch” during Halloween.
After retiring in 1991, they relocated to The Villages in Florida, where they became members of the “Way, Way, Way, Off Broadway Players” and participated in a wide variety of productions over the course of more than 15 years. They made the most of the warm weather by vacationing at their cottage in Knobby Knoll, which is located near Sackets Harbor, New York. To her five grandchildren, Amber Evans, Justin Steakley (Jaime), Fallon (Frappier) Whitacre (Joseph), and Payton (Frappier) MacLatchie (Andrew), as well as to her three great-grandchildren, Jude Steakley, Jett Steakley, and Sonny Whitacre, Wanda is a “Nonni” who is deeply cherished.
Both of Wanda’s parents and her brother, James S. Molinelli, passed away before she was born. Wanda was well-known not only for her kind and compassionate nature, but also for her beautiful grin. On the 16th of June, at 10 in the morning, there will be a Memorial Mass performed at St. Timothy Catholic Church in The Villages, Florida. In lieu of sending flowers, donations can be made to “My Time For Free Time,” which is housed in Hope Lutheran Church and can be sent to 250 Avienda Los Angelos, The Villages, Florida 32162. Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, Florida, has been entrusted with the care of the arrangements. You are welcome to share your condolences with the family at www.beyersfuneralhome.com.
