Victoria Soutar Obituary, Victoria Lynn “Vicki” Smith Soutar, 63, Of Watkinsville, Died

Victoria Soutar Obituary, Death – On Monday, June 5, 2023, Victoria Lynn “Vicki” Smith Soutar, who was 63 years old and lived in Watkinsville, went to be with her Lord and Savior. Vicki was the daughter of the late Harold Carlyle Smith and Evelyn Marie Russell Smith. She was born in Smyrna. Her parents both passed away. She attended the University of Georgia and received a Master’s degree in education from there. She retired from the Oconee County School System, where she had worked as a science teacher at Oconee County High School for more than 30 years before leaving that position.

She was a coach for the Ocean Bowl Team and guided the team to numerous national finishes during her time with them. She was awarded the title of Teacher of the Year twice. Vicki was a scuba diver of the highest caliber, and she traveled to the ocean floor on two separate occasions aboard the DSV Alvin Submersible. She attended services at the Ashford Memorial Methodist Church in Watkinsville during her lifetime.

Surviving family members include her devoted husband of 35 years, Doug Soutar; sisters Valerie Kemp, Vivian Mulkey (Monty), and Veronica Fincher (Robert); numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; her father-in-law, Alister Soutar (Elaine), mother-in-law, Giovanna Soutar; and brother-in-law, Jamie Soutar (Carla).

On Saturday, June 10, at one o’clock in the afternoon, there will be a memorial ceremony held at Ashford Memorial Methodist Church. The Reverend Robert W. Greene will preside over the event.
