Tony Hemmila Obituary, Death – On February 27, 2022, Merlen Howard Hemmila, who was 72 years old at the time, went to be with his Lord and Savior in heaven. Merle Hemmila was born on July 12, 1949 in Cloquet, Minnesota, to parents Howard and Shirley Hemmila. After graduating high school, Merle joined the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Passumpsic during the Vietnam War. Merle founded Superior Cash Register soon after being discharged from the Navy, and he remained the sole proprietor of the company for the next four decades.
Merle and Sue were married for a total of 49 years. He considered her to be his one true love, and the two of them took great satisfaction in sharing life’s experiences together. They would not get married until August 24, 1972, although their first encounter was on September 7, 1969. Merle was an avid fan of every sport, but his favorites were ice hockey and golf. During the warmer months, you could regularly find him at the Atlas Valley Country Club, where he was either strolling with Sue or playing golf.
Merle is survived by his wife, Sue (Townsend), three children, Alex (who is married to Megan), Jonathan (who is married to Jaclyn), and Amanda (who is married to Alvaro Novoa), and three grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, and Joliette. Merle was born in the United States. His father, Howard Hemmila, had already passed away when he was born. The loss of such a devoted husband, father, and grandfather will be felt by everyone.
