Timothy Gorman Obituary, Death – Timothy Patrick Gorman, born on March 15, 1984, quickly took the roles of cherished son to Richard and Margaret Gorman and baby brother to sisters Kerry (Coonan), Stacey (Tureski), and Lori (Ruggieri). Timmy enjoyed all of the activities provided by the Kent Recreation Department as a child, including Summer Camp, soccer, basketball, and baseball. Timmy graduated from Carmel High School before moving to South Carolina with his parents and became the first employee of the family’s Sandwedge Deli. Timmy completed his schooling while living in South Carolina, attending Carolina Forest High School and subsequently Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
Timmy remained a devoted New York Yankees and New York Jets fan despite his relocation south! He liked the music of the Grateful Dead, Phish, and Billy Joel. Timmy adored all animals, even his sisters’ kittens, despite his severe allergies. But, most importantly, Timmy adored his puppy, Caddie. Timmy was overjoyed to have Caddie as a “course dog” and looked forward to bringing her to work with him whenever possible.
Timmy was most remembered for being a “FUN”cle to his three nieces and four nephews, Caitlin (Tureski), Karly (Coonan), Finnley (Coonan), Colin (Tureski), Rory (Coonan), Keegan (Ruggieri), and Brody (Ruggieri), throughout his time with us. “Uncle Timmy” relished spending time at the beach with his nieces and nephews, cheering them on from the sidelines of baseball games, and generally causing mischief with the youngsters whenever possible. Timmy was really just a BIG KID himself, often caught finishing the milk gallon and sneaking into the kitchen in the middle of the night to take the leftover cake and cookies.
Timmy was fortunate enough to work on some of the most stunning golf courses on the east coast. Timmy left a legacy of maintained greens at East Hampton Golf Club, Gardiner’s Bay Country Club, Laurel Links Country Club, Pine Hills Golf & Country Club, Legends Golf & Resort, Man O War Golf Course, Wizard Golf Course, and Wolfert’s Roost Country Club, among others. Timmy’s brothers-in-law, Thomas (Coonan), Michael (Tureski), and Michael (Ruggieri), will remember him with every stroke, putt, and drive on future rounds of golf, as they shared many experiences as a golf foursome both on and off the course.
We ask you to hug your family (because Timmy was a “hugger”), play with your dog (because Timmy liked pets), and live every minute (because you never know when you’ll run out of moments). Timmy was the “bestest” buddy to everyone he met. Timmy had the largest heart and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. Timmy’s family will be eternally grateful for the time he spent on Earth and for the ones he touched with his wicked smile! In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kind Keeper Animal Rescue in North Myrtle Beach, SC. (https://kindkeeper.wixsite.com/kindkeeper) Timmy had a soft spot for this animal rescue shelter, where he had volunteered for many years. A memorial service to honor Timothy will be held at a later date. Prior to the date, information on the life celebration will be posted.
