Sheila Mclaughlin Obituary, Death – At Vitas Hospice in Lecanto, Florida, Sheila Anne McLaughlin, 83, of Crystal River, Florida, died away on July 31, 2021 in a peaceful manner. Sheila Johns, who was raised in Medford and Somerville and received her high school diploma from St. Clement, was born on July 27, 1938, in Medford, Massachusetts, to Jeremiah Hugh and Winfred (Kearns) Johns. Sheila raised her children for many years while residing in Groveland, Massachusetts. Sheila established Chapter 68 of the National Treasury Employees’ Union in Andover and Methuen before she retired from the Internal Revenue Service.

In addition to belonging to the Ladies Golf League at the Plantation Golf Club and the St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto, Florida, she moved to Citrus County in 2004. Sheila was raised by her parents as well as She was in love with Tom. She is survived by her children, Philip Goodrum of Haverhill, Massachusetts, Gayle Atherton and her husband, Chris Hill, of Haverhill, Michael Dunbar of Topsfield, Massachusetts, Georgine Clancy and her husband, Darin Hood-Tucker, of Hudson, New Hampshire, and Sheila Dunbar of Manchester, New Hampshire; one brother, Dennis Johns of Brooksville, Florida; brother-in-law, Rev.

Richard McLaughlin of Crystal River; brother-in-law, She also leaves behind her dearest friend, coworker, and fellow campaigner, Annie, as well as two very special children, Barbara Venturi of Barrington, New Hampshire, and Jean Simonella of Pembroke, New Hampshire.Sheila was a remarkably resilient, caring, kind, and generous person who never shied away from helping others in need. She liked to read, play cribbage, and play golf.

All who knew her will miss her terribly. Her brother-in-law, Reverend Richard McLaughlin, will officiate a Memorial Mass on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 10 A.M. at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto, Florida.  A celebration of life will take place after the burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, later in August. The Lecanto, Florida-based Brown Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of making funeral arrangements.
