Sal Iacono Death, Obituary – The news that our good friend and coworker Sal Iacono had passed away brought on a tremendous deal of suffering for those of us who knew him. Sal was a member of our community who held a high level of respect for those who held viewpoints that were distinct from their own. For a very long time, Sal was a passionate supporter of the work done by United Way East Ontario as well as a range of other charity efforts. He also supported the work done by other charitable organisations.
In addition to his current post as Senior Vice President at Bell Canada, Sal has served in this capacity for an extremely extended period of time. The financial aspects of the campaign fell within Sal’s purview, and he also presided over the board of directors as treasurer. He came from simple beginnings and could identify, on a personal level, to the difficulties that a lot of people go through because he had gone through them himself. He was able to do this because he had experienced them himself.
Sal was a kind and helpful man who focused his attention and energy on providing assistance to children, teenagers, and persons who had recently relocated to Canada. Because he had a kind and generous soul, he carried this out. When it came to tackling the issues that are linked with food insecurity in Ottawa, Sal made a concerted effort to ensure that pupils in the city’s schools had access to food.
This was one of the ways that he worked to solve these issues. In the past, he had a reputation for saying things like, “You won’t learn when you are hungry.” Everyone who knew Sal, everyone whose life was touched by his kindness, and everyone who was motivated by his unending dedication to helping others will feel a great sense of loss upon learning of his passing.
Our sincerest condolences go out to his wife Marisa, as well as their friends and family, and to anybody who had the privilege of calling him a friend. We are deeply sorry for the loss you have suffered.
