Ryan Benton Obituary, Death – (Farewell Message): Ryan Benton was one of my best friends growing up, he taught me that the only way to get even with life, was to live spectacularly, and thats how Ive tried to live since. Ryan pushed me to be in my first band and together, we would go on to perform together for the first time, and even got to play the Congress Theater in Chicago as teenagers. He stuck with me through all my highschool bands no matter how bad they were, he knew I saw something special in performing and he always made it a point to push me further.
Last time him and I caught up, he was so stoked to tell me how proud he was of me for taking music as far as I have, touring to the east and west coast, playing bigger shows that him and I dreamed of. He wanted to catch my band if we ever came through Boston. Im so disappointed we dont have more photos of us performing together, but he always stuck to the back of the stage, making sure he could highlight me as the frontman of any project we were apart of. He was selfless to me and Ill never forget how he made me feel, I will continue to push others around me the way he did to honor that.
Here are some old pixely photos from years ago of us, these photos make me happy. We were best friends. He was such a light in my life when I needed, I wish we had kept up more when he went to college. Im going to miss him so much, I wouldn’t be who I am today without Ryan, and its not fair that Ill never get to play for him again. Rest easy dude…
