Ronnie Boyd Obituary, Death – Ronnie Boyd, the Humboldt-Del Norte Unit Fire Captain, passed away on June 11, 2023, and today we celebrate his life and legacy. In 2003, Captain Boyd began his career with CAL FIRE as a Firefighter I in the Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit. In 2007, he was promoted to the position of Limited-Term Fire Apparatus Engineer at CAL FIRE. In 2009, Captain Boyd received promotions to both a permanent post as a Fire Apparatus Engineer in the Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit and a limited-term position as a Fire Captain in the Shasta-Trinity Unit.
Both promotions occurred in the same year. Captain Boyd received a permanent promotion to the rank of Fire Captain in the Humboldt-Del Norte Unit in 2016, where he had been working up until the day before he passed away yesterday.
