Robert Dickerson Obituary, Death – Robert Brown Dickerson, who was 80 years old and lived in Plymouth, passed away at the ECU Medical Center in Greenville on June 10, 2023. On December 8, 1942, Robert was born in Martin County to his late parents, Roy Samuel and Ethel Lilley Dickerson. Both of his parents have now passed away. He was wed to the surviving Phyllis Ann Woolard, who used to go by her maiden name.
He was active in the Baptist Men and the Building and Grounds Committee at the Plymouth First Baptist Church, where he was also a member of the congregation. Until the time of his retirement, he was employed by the Weyerhaeuser Corporation in the capacity of assistant operator. On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at three o’clock in the afternoon, there will be a funeral ceremony held at Plymouth First Baptist Church. The ceremony will be presided over by Pastor Paull Harrington. A burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Gardens after the service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gary D. Dickerson of Williamston and Joey B. Dickerson (Leigh), of Manvel, Texas; four grandchildren, Justin Dickerson, Chelsea Dickerson, Wesley Dickerson, and Sophie Dickerson; one great-grandchild, Grant Robert Dickerson; a brother named Richard “Ricky” Allen Dickerson of Washington; and a sister named Sue D. Sawyer (Henry) of Kinston. His brother Sammy Dickerson passed away before him. He was the last of his family.
On Monday, June 12, 2023, the family will hold a visitation at Plymouth First Baptist Church from seven o’clock in the evening to nine o’clock in the evening.
