River Ludemann Obituary, Accident – The Fort Pierre community in South Dakota is mourning the loss of a beloved teenager, River Ludemann, who tragically lost his life in a car accident. The 14-year-old teenager’s passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, as he was known for his kind and sweet nature. River’s life was cut short on Saturday, May 27, 2023, when a single-vehicle crash occurred in the Off Road Vehicle area near Oahe Dam, off of Highway 1806. River Ludemann’s promising life was abruptly taken away in a devastating car accident. On that fateful Saturday evening around 9:30 p.m., the Stanley County Sheriff’s Office received distressing reports of a car crash in the Off Road Vehicle area. Responding to the call, law enforcement officials discovered the teen trapped inside a jeep. The accident occurred near Oahe Dam, off of Highway 1806, which is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
Promptly after the accident, emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene. River Ludemann was quickly transported by an AMR ambulance to Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the young teenager was tragically pronounced dead at the hospital, leaving the community in shock and disbelief.
