Nicolae Kushnir Obituary, of Moodus Nicolae Kushnir Has Sadly Died At Age 21

Nicolae Kushnir Death, Obituary – On June 5, 2023, Nicolae Kushnir, age 21, of Moodus, who was formerly of Stratford, passed away and is now at peace forever. He was the son of Oleg Trofim Kushnir of Moodus and Lucia Trofim Kushnir of Ialoveni, Moldova, and he was born in Ialoveni. Nicolae arrived in the United States in 2007 and grew up in Stratford after making the move there. He was a student who was both brilliant and conscientious. Nicolae had recently received his diploma from Stratford High School and was currently enrolled as a sophomore at the University of Connecticut, where he was pursuing a degree in psychology.

His family, his community at the University of Connecticut, and all the people whose lives he touched will miss him and remember him fondly. Nicolae was a beloved son, brother, and friend who possessed a sweet and profound spirit that motivated others to act kindly toward one another. His warm disposition and infectious grin will live on in the memories of those who were closest to him forever.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his devoted brother, Andrei Kushnir; sisters, Alexandra, Anastasia, Maria, Olga, Tatiana, and Sofia Kushnir, all of Moodus; his maternal grandparents, Vladimir and Zinaida Trofim of Moldova; his paternal grandmother, Nadejda Cusnir of Moldova; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. His parents were born in Moldova. His grandfather on his father’s side, Vasile Cusnir, passed away before he was born.

On Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, friends and relatives will be able to pay their respects at the Presentation of Christ in the Temple Russian Orthodox Church, located at 5 Wheeler Terrace (corner of Nichols Avenue) in Stratford, Panakhida. The service will begin at 7:00 PM. On Friday, June 9, 2023, the Presentation of Christ in the Temple Russian Orthodox Church will be the location of both the Divine Liturgy at 8:00 AM and the Requiem Funeral Service at 10:00 AM.

Both services will take place in the same building. After the service, interment will take place at Three Saints Cemetery in Seymour. Arrangements are being handled by the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, which can be found at 167 Wakelee Avenue in Ansonia. Nicolae was a cherished son, brother, and friend who possessed a gentle and profound spirit.

He was an example to others of how to treat others with care. His warm disposition and infectious grin will live on in the memories of those who were closest to him forever.
