Mona Allison Obituary, Mona Allison Died At The Age Of 86

Mona Allison Obituary, Death – Mona Allison’s family announces her passing on June 7, 2023, at the age of 86, in the Miramichi Regional Hospital, with her family by her side. Mom’s life was built on love, generosity, and compassion. Her biggest love in life was for her children and grandkids, and she shared that same steadfast love and compassion with her extended family and friends. We were really fortunate to have had her affection and advice throughout our lives. Mom was born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, on February 24, 1937, to the late Frank and Delia McKenzie.

Mom was predeceased by her husband and our father Donald, as well as siblings Anna (Charles) Estey, Jack (Elsie) McKenzie, Leo (Celie) McKenzie, Louise (Pat) Powers, Sister Minnie McKenzie, niece Karen Estey, special friend Nyles Mutch, and brother-in-law Denis Trepanier. Her daughter Candace (Neil) Smith, son Bradley (Winnie) Allison, granddaughters Lindsay (Dana) Allison and Crystal Allison, and sister-in-law are all survivors. Mickey Trepanier, Nyle’s daughter Jolene (Kevin) Wortman, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, were among those that died.

The family would like to express profound gratitude to the Extramural and Palliative Care Unit staff for their love and care shown to mom and us during her final days. Thank you especially to Kevin and Lynn Dunn, Sandra O’Shea, and her entire extended family for the love and care offered to mom over the years, but especially in the last few years. Their generosity and giving of time to assist her when we couldn’t be there due to distance was greatly appreciated not only by us, but also by mom, who frequently expressed how much this meant to her.

There will be no visiting, as per Mom’s wishes. Fr. Dan Melanson will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Red Bank, New Brunswick. Mom and dad will be laid to rest in St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Cemetery, Boom Road, immediately following the service. Following the service, a reception will be held in the St. Thomas Church Hall. Please join us in honoring our mother’s life.
