Millie Pennington Obituary, Death – Millie C. Pennington, who was 92 years old and had formerly lived in Fountain City, passed away on June 6, 2023 at the Maple Park Senior Care facility in Westfield, Indiana. She was the daughter of Robert Lee Brannum and Donna Ella Glass Brannum, and she was born on February 19, 1931 in Byrdstown, Tennessee. On May 5, 1951, she tied the knot with Delbert Pennington. Before Mr. Pennington passed away on December 18, 2017, the couple had been together for 66 years and were blessed with four sons.
She was a mother who stayed at home with her children but she did have a brief stint of employment at Avco and Alcoa in Richmond, Indiana. She found great satisfaction in tending to her garden and preparing meals for her loved ones. Her children and grandchildren were her biggest love in the world. Her sons, Mike Pennington and his wife Barb, Ronnie Pennington and his wife Jo, and Donnie Pennington, along with their three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, will all mourn their grandmother.
Her parents, her son David R. “Bobby” Pennington, her brothers Edward Brannum, Clayton Brannum, and Curtis Branum, and her sisters Flora (Clarice) Rayborn and Lucille Pennington all passed away before her. On Saturday, June 10, at 1:00 p.m., there will be a celebration of Mrs. Pennington’s life held at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, which is located at 321 US 27 South in Fountain City. After the service, the burial will take place at Willow Grove Cemetery.
