Michelle McNutt Obituary, Death – Michelle M. (Shelley) McNutt of Fayette, age 66, died peacefully on June 1, 2023, at home in the company of her loved ones. She was the daughter of Paul W. and Mary B. (Hunt) Linebrink and was born in Defiance on June 25, 1956. She attended Defiance High School, where she received her diploma. She wed Thomas H. McNutt in Defiance on November 29, 1975; he died on December 14, 2021, before her. Shelley spent several years working in administration in the mental health sector until retiring in June 2021. She participated in volunteer work for the church and Learning Friends while attending the Fayette Church of the Nazarene. She also loved knitting, cross stitching, and growing flowers.
She is survived by her kids, Brian (Beth) and grandkids Alex (Ashlyn) and Madison Smith, Lauren and Tyler Longenecker, Collin and William Bitler, and Andrea (Nick) Longenecker; as well as a sister, Amy (John) Thomas. She was predeceased by her parents in addition to her spouse. Shelley requested cremation, so that will happen. The Fayette Church of the Nazarene will host a memorial service for the family on June 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Rev. Andy Reynard will officiate. One block away from me was Ruth Anne’s family, her grandparents were right next door, and Barry and Becky Wegner were on the opposite side. We played baseball, Ranch, combat, rode our bikes to the outdoor Moorhead pool for swimming lessons, and we were the 9th Street Gang. In the winter, we ice skated on the flooded baseball field. I attended Fairview Nursing School with Ruth Anne, Mary Meyers, and Mary Jane Solien Olson; I later transferred out, but those three went on to become wonderful nurses. Countless memories!
