Marquez Coles Death, Obituary – On Sunday, June 4, our community was struck with a devastating loss when one of our very own players, Marquez Coles, went away suddenly from an unexpected illness. In all candor, it has taken me this amount of time to collect my thoughts in order to convey the depth of my anguish on this.
Ironically, the first summer practice we had after his passing was on the Monday morning after he passed away. It would be an understatement to say that there was a solemn mood on the field where the game was being played. He ought to have been present with us.
Nobody is expected to pass away at the age of 16, especially in this day and age. He still had a lot of things to look forward to in life, particularly the upcoming season. He was a son, a brother, a member of the team, and the friend of everyone. His death will leave a tremendous void in the hearts of a lot of people. The funeral for Marquez will take place tomorrow. It will be difficult for his coaches and teammates, but I hope that we will be able to love and support one other through this, and that we will remember his family in our thoughts and prayers as they, too, lament his passing.
Because of this, we have learned to focus on the here and now and to be grateful for every opportunity that comes our way. Because of this, every instant of our lives is important. Marquez was a young man who was both fun and respectable. May we honor him by remembering him fondly throughout the upcoming season and by upholding the spirit of brotherhood that he helped to foster. May the Lord grant him eternal rest!
You can probably imagine that the Coles family was not prepared for the financial component of this tragedy. If you are in a position to do so, please consider making a contribution directly to the funeral home to help cover his funeral expenses.
