Maria Pineda Death, Obituary – We are sorry to inform you of some disappointing news. We recently had to say goodbye to one of our long-time partners, Justin Morrill, who resided in Houston, Texas. His untimely death came as a shock to everyone. Over the past decade and a half, Justin has been an integral part of the CSA Shows’ backstage operations, and the loss of his presence is being keenly felt by his colleagues partners as well as by the entire CSA Shows family. Our sincerest condolences go out to Monica, who has been married to Justin for the past 23 years, as well as to their children, Colin and London.
Because of Justin’s passion for sports, he was able to parlay that interest into a successful career as an entrepreneur in the sports memorabilia industry. It was at the age of 14 that he started The Battersbox, a vintage sports cards catalogue business that he managed from his bedroom in the house that he shared with his parents. Today, The Battersbox is the most successful mail-order company in the vintage card industry. In 2004, he established The Jersey Source Autographs, which has since grown to become one of the memorabilia industry’s most successful businesses and boasts one of the most extensive inventory of collectibles.
Stadium Signatures is now Houston’s number one source for in-person shopping for autographed memorabilia and collectibles. In 2013, the same year that he became a partner with CSA Shows, Justin expanded his service to include more than just online shopping and launched his first storefront. Stadium Signatures is named after the team for whom it is named. Justin packed more into his brief life of 47 years than the majority of people do. He was always impulsive, and he loved to travel on short notice (ideally to a tropical beach). He also enjoyed playing golf, and he liked to take his wife and children to see things that they had never seen before.
He had a large personality and a smile that could light up a room, he made it a point to enjoy each day to the fullest, he was always the center of the party, everyone’s friend, and he treated everyone like they were family. He was a devoted and smothering husband to Monica, who described him as always being supportive and kind. As a loving, kind, and compassionate father, he tried everything in his power to provide Colin and London with everything the world has to offer. He was Colin and London’s number one supporter.
