Lois Thompson Obituary, Lois Thompson Has Passed Away Peacefully At Age 89

Lois Thompson Death, Obituary – On April 25, 2023, Lois Thompson Leake, who had been a devoted mother and a loyal member of the community, died away quietly while she was surrounded by the people she loved. She was only 89 years old at the time.Lois was the daughter of loving parents who instilled in her a profound appreciation for faith, creativity, and family from the time of her birth on July 31, 1933 in Springfield, Kentucky.

She was fortunate enough to find her soul mate in James “Skeeter” Leake, and the two of them were married for more than 50 years before he passed away in 2009. They were responsible for raising six children as a unit.
Lois was a talented painter who had a deep-seated desire to depict the splendor that she saw in the world around her. She was a very intelligent woman who possessed extensive knowledge in the fields of medicine and history.

She enjoyed exploring new places and learning about other cultures. She was a devout child of God, and as such, she was a brilliant example of kindness, strength, and grace. Her legacy will continue to be carried on by her cherished family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Her grandfather Bertrand Thompson, her mother Martha (Sidney Hays), her brother Tommy Thompson (Betty Jo), her sister Mary Lou Carver, her husband James “Skeeter” Leake, and her grandson Chad Leake all passed away before Lois. Lois is survived by her sister Mary Lou Carver.

Lois is survived by her sister Joan Schoen, her six children Jimmy, Stephen, Bryan (Valerie), Laura (Steve), and Lynne (David), as well as a large number of nieces and nephews and her grandchildren Lauren Elza (Brian), Chas Allen, Adam Leake, Catherine Leake, Lynsey Ryan (Chris), Blake Allen (Kelly), Sydney Barton (Will), Jordan Jones (Christina), Collin Jones (Anna),

On Saturday, May 13, 2023, a celebration of Lois’s life will take place. The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon, Kentucky will be open for visitation from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m., and then the St. Augustine Church will host the funeral mass at 12:00 p.m. After the memorial service, there will be a luncheon and a burial service.
