Clifton Hayes Death, Obituary – On June 26, 2022, Leland Clifton Hayes, who was 73 years old and lived in Rockholds, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his house. On October 30, 1948, he was born in Rockholds, Kentucky to the late William G. Hayes and the late Dora Cleo (Mackey) Hayes. Both of his parents have since passed away. In addition to his own parents, he was predeceased by both his wife Alta Mae Hayes and his son Bobby Jack Hayes. His parents passed away first.
His wife, Teresa Hayes of Rockholds, Kentucky, is the sole surviving member of his family. James Hayes (Billie) of Rockholds, Amy Hayes (Kenny) of Rockholds, Crystal Hayes (Dustin) of Rockholds, Ashley Croley (Michael) of Rockholds, Kayla Partin (Danny) of Rockholds, and Clifton S. Hayes (Jenay) of Corbin are the six children that outlive their father, Leland. Alisha Broughton (James), Koty Hayes (Leeann), Ethan Hayes (Bethany), Kenzie Hayes, Conner Woolum, Cameron Woolum, Laci Croley, Ally Croley, Jonah Croley, Kaleb Partin, Serenity Partin, Isaiah Hayes, Gracelyn Hayes, Jesse Hayes, and Charlee Hayes are the grandparents of the fifteen grandkids.
Tristian Broughton, Waylon Broughton, Cadence Hayes, Lilly Hayes, William Hayes, and Sullivan Hayes are the six great-grandchildren. Bill Hayes and his wife, Linda, live in Corbin. Eunice Faye Faulkner and her husband, Woodrow, are in Rockholds. Mercedes Stevens and her husband, Lonnie, also live in Rockholds. Arizona Hayes lives in Florida. a number of nieces and nephews in addition to a large number of other relatives and friends who are mourning his departure.
The Wofford Missionary Baptist Church counted Leland as a member of their congregation. He was a veteran of both the United States Marine Corps and the Vietnam War. Visitation will be held at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 1:00 pm until the hour of the funeral service.
On Friday, July 1, 2022, at three o’clock in the afternoon, a funeral service will be performed in the chapel of the Croley Funeral Home with the Reverends Bobby Joe Bunch and Paul Rhodes presiding. The funeral service will be followed by the interment in the Hayes Cemetery located in Flat Creek, Kentucky. The American Legion Post # 88 of Corbin, Kentucky will be in charge of executing the Military Graveside Honors at the funeral.
