Keagan Gross Obituary, Death – After a prolonged struggle with cancer that lasted several months, Mr. Keagan Jay Gross, age 15, from Poca, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2023, at his home, with his parents and sister by his side. Throughout his fight with cancer, Keagan remained brave, strong, and focused his energy on fighting like a warrior while putting God at the center of his life. Keegan was the kind of funny, fun-loving youngster who could make anyone’s day better by making them laugh, and that’s how he’ll always be remembered.
He was a wonderful son to his parents, Glenn and Sarah, an amazing athlete, and a caring brother to his sister, Shannon. He was a terrific friend to many people and was devoted to those friends. Keagan is also survived by his parents, Glenn and Sarah Gross, his sister, Shannon Gross, his grandparents Sandy “Nana” Reedy, Don “Pappy” and Connie “Grammy” Gross, his aunt and uncle, Brandy and Jerry Kane, his cousins Autumn and Wyatt Kane, and many more extended family members and friends throughout the Poca, West Virginia community and further afield.
Nicky Dawson, Keagan’s aunt, and Jerry “Poppy” Reedy, Keagan’s grandfather, both passed away before Keagan. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to an organization that supports cancer research or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to express their gratitude to everyone who has prayed for them and supported them throughout this time. Keagan as he was engaged in combat, and urge everyone to keep in mind the words that God spoke to Keagan through his prophetic utterances. “You must suffer through the pain of the night in order to see the glory of tomorrow.” Romans 8:18
The Celebration of Life Service for Keagan will be conducted on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 7 o’clock in the evening outside at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens located at 11013 Charleston Road in Red House, West Virginia. The service will be officiated by Pastors Jay Mace and Bron Walker. On Friday, prior to the service, the family will be there to greet friends from five in the afternoon until seven in the evening. Because there will be a limited number of seats available, we ask that everyone bring a chair with them.
