Kais Khoury Obituary, Death – On Saturday, October 30, 2021, Kais Khoury, 69, of Hobe Sound, Florida, previously of Cranston, Rhode Island, passed away. She lived on Jupiter Island where her devoted husband of 29 years, Amin J. Khoury, looked after her until her passing. Daughter of David and Eugenia (McCarthy) Moriarty, formerly of Cumberland, Rhode Island, and West Palm Beach, Florida, she was born in Providence on October 9, 1952. In St. John, US Virgin Islands, on April 24, 1992, she and Amin were wed. Initially residing in Wellesley, Massachusetts, they then spent more than 25 years splitting their time between Jupiter Island, Florida, Cape Cod, and Osterville, Massachusetts. Julie was raised in Cranston and Cumberland, Rhode Island, after being born there. She went to and completed,
from Cumberland High School, Columbus, Ohio’s Capital University (accounting), and Boston, Massachusetts’s Northeastern University (M. B. A.). She met Amin Khoury, her spouse, at Northeastern. She enjoyed her time in school and gained a lifelong respect for the distinctive educational opportunities provided at Northeastern. The Northeastern University’s “The Amin J. and Julie E. Khoury Endowed Scholarship Fund” was established by Julie and Amin in 2010. The Khoury Scholars frequently write to the family to share their insights, discoveries, and professional achievements. Julie, who has a remarkable capacity for kindness and compassion, enjoyed reading their letters and felt enormous pride in the important part she had played in the children’ progress and success. She leaves a legacy of improved lives as a result of her dedication.
Julie embodied what it meant to be a good, joyful, and loving person. With her smile, grace, and unrestrained happiness, she illuminated every space. Her long-lasting and devoted marriage to Amin set a lovely example for everyone who knew them. In addition to her humanitarian work with the Kravis Center, Jupiter Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Cape Cod Healthcare, and Northeastern University, Julie enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and playing tennis. The Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University was endowed by Julie and Amin in 2019. Her loved ones, who included her family and friends, will profoundly miss her. Her loving grandkids Katherine and Alexandra Khoury, as well as her husband Amin J. Khoury and his three children Kim, Amin, and David, survive her.
Siblings include Riley and Kai Thayer, her favorite grandniece and nephew, as well as David Moriarty of West Palm Beach, Florida, Denise (Bruce) Thayer of Hobe Sound, Florida, and her 2 adored nephews Rafe Thayer and David (Kaycee) Thayer. On Friday, November 19, 2021, at 2:00 pm, a memorial service will be held at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 12001 SE Federal Highway, Hobe Sound, FL 33455. At 3:30 pm, there will be a memorial service for Julie at the Jupiter Hills Club, 11,800 SE Hill Club Terrace, Tequesta, FL 33469. Infernhill Memorial Garden in Stuart, Florida, will host the burial at a later time.
