Jimmy Trujillo Obituary, Death – 93-year-old Jimmy S. Trujillo was born in Pueblo, Colorado. July 6, 1929, and passed away in Lakewood, Colorado, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on May 14, 2023. Martha B. Trujillo, his wife of 67 years, predeceased him. Jimmy definitely enjoyed the good life. At age 17, he enlisted in the military. After returning home, he loved to dance to big bands like Jimmy Dorsey and The Glenn Miller Band at Elitch’s and Lakeside, where he eventually met Martha B. Trujillo, the love of his life, whom he later married. He was the owner and operator of the most prosperous “Trujillo Drywall” Company, one of the biggest drywall enterprises at the time, from the late 1950s through the 1980s.

Jimmy loved playing golf and going fishing, but he loved coming to Las Vegas even more. He was undoubtedly a high roller. Every night, he would watch at least one show and perhaps two. included a New Year’s Eve extravaganza at the Hilton Hotel showroom with the one and only Elvis Presley. not to mention Tony Orlando, Liberace, and the Rat Pack, to name a few. He would proceed to the lounge shows till three in the morning after viewing these Las Vegas performances. He was a true music lover. He has attended some of the biggest boxing contests in history in Las Vegas, including those between George Foreman, Oscar De La Hoya, and Muhammad Ali.

Being with a group of people and sharing laughs and jokes was another joy in his life. He would go garage sales and Goodwills to purchase a lot of stuff and to converse and make jokes with friends and strangers alike. He led a vibrant life and visited Disneyland many times a year until his 90s. taking rides like the Rockin’ Roller Coaster and It’s a Small World. eat lunch and dinner with his family at least twice or three times per week. Which brings us to his family, whom he loves more than anything. Nothing meant more to him than his 13 grandchildren and six children. He gave us his power, love, and compassion in every endeavor.

He always told us to believe in ourselves and to go for our dreams. Not only in ourselves, but also in our Lord, our beliefs, and our religion. Many people will miss him since he was a wonderful son, father, husband, popo (grandfather), and friend. He truly set the bar high for goodness, success, humor, generosity, and kindness; his love and legacy will last forever. Jeannette, Monty (Linda), Pamela (Alfonso), Gail (Jeff), Lisa, and Shelly are his surviving children. James, Brooke, Westin, Dylan, Candice, Jared, Kristopher, Shane, Sheldon, Shariah, and Sharlize are the grandchildren. Several great grandkids, nieces, nephews, and spouses are also present. His devoted wife of 67 years, Martha B. Trujillo, as well as his parents, Pete and Christina, sisters Margaret and Lucy, preceded him in death.
