James Deal Obituary, Death – On June 2, 2023, James Garver Deal, Sr., who had lived on Royster Road in Shelby, Tennessee, passed away at the age of 79 in the facility known as Atrium Health – Pineville. He was a resident of Tennessee. It was in the county of Caldwell that he was born on the 21st of January 1944. The late William Carl Deal and Hettie Garver Deal, who were his parents, passed away before he was born. He had a history of working in the field of road building and was a member of the Fallston Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. During that time, he was deployed to Korea.
Not only did he not outlive his parents, but also his older brother, Billy Deal, passed away before him. Both of his parents and his sibling had already passed away before he was born. He is survived by his son, James “Jimmy” G. Deal, Jr., of Shelby; his daughter, Lisa Deal Humphries, also of Shelby; his granddaughter, Kaylee Hamrick, also of Shelby; his sister-in-law, Nancy Deal, of Lenior; his nephew, Carl Deal, of Georgia; and Rachel Deal, also of Lenior. He was preceded in death by his father, James G. Deal.
On the afternoon of Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM, there will be a memorial ceremony held in the chapel of the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home to honor the life of the departed and pay tribute to their memory. The Reverend Dylan Melton and Dr. Wade Dellinger will serve as the event’s co-presidents and preside over the gathering. Immediately after the conclusion of the service that was being held in the funeral home, the family will get together with their friends.
