Graig Stewart Death, Obituary – On Tuesday evening, Craig Stewart passed away at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. His parents had made the difficult choice earlier in the day to turn off the life-support system that was keeping him alive. Relatives of the man, who was 25 years old, stated that he had been in severe condition ever since he arrived at the hospital, and medical professionals stated that he had “very little chance” of recovering.
On February 10, music enthusiast Mr. Stewart was attacked in Magdalene Drive, where he was living, and suffered a critical chest injury.
He has been called a “real family man,” and the only reason he was living on the street was because he had so generously traded his home in Penicuik with his older brother Russell, who is married and has a child. At his bedside, members of his family, including his parents, Karen and Russell, and his brother, also named Russell, kept vigil. His cousin Billie Stewart, who is 21 years old and lives in Prestonpans, East Lothian, stated, “I was told that Craig had passed away at approximately 9 o’clock on Tuesday evening.”
The family requested that the machine that provided life support be switched off. They deliberated over it for an extended period of time, but in the end, they didn’t have much of a choice. “It’s a terrible blow to the family that he had to be taken away at such a young age.” She went on to say that Craig’s father, Russell, and her own father, Scott, were brothers. It’s been five terrible years since the passing of my father. When we were both much younger, Craig and I were really close. He used to visit me at my home in Leith, and then he would take us to see him in Penicuik together with my grandmother.
“Craig had a passion for music and was interested in DJing. He had aspirations of making that his life’s work. Due to the fact that my sister Kerry and Craig were born only ten days apart from one another, they were quite close. Because she was in such a bad mood on Tuesday, I decided to spend some time with her. Relatives have mentioned that Mr. Stewart had a girlfriend who they say is inconsolable at his passing.
