Grace Hankinson car accident, Death, Obituary -Grace Ann Wilburn Hankinson, 75 years old and a resident of Independence, passed away on January 27, 2011 at the Hospice of St. Elizabeth of Edgewood. She had previously worked as a Deli Clerk for Cherokee I.G.A. in Independence, and she was also a member of the Big Bone Baptist Church in Union. Mrs. Hankinson had a strong commitment to her family, and in her spare time, she enjoyed watching reality television and collecting Elvis memorabilia.
In addition to her husband, Marshall Donald Hankinson of Independence, she is survived by her sons, Norm Mayfield and Donald Hankinson, both of Independence; her sister, Ann Benecke of Warsaw; her grandchildren, Chaz Mayfield, Andrew Mayfield, Norm Fernando Mayfield, Clarice Mayfield, Alisha Hankinson, and Robert Hankinson; and her great grandchild, Elijah “Willie” Miller.
Visitation is scheduled for the evening of Monday, January 31, 2011, from five until eight o’clock at the Chambers and Grubbs funeral home in Independence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home at ten in the morning. Independence Cemetery will be the location of the interment.
