Gerald Mclean Obituary, Death – The death of Gerald Francis Mclean, husband of Lois Mclean, took place on June 9, 2023, at the age of 85, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. The family of Gerald Francis Mclean is deeply grieved to announce his departure. He passed away while he was surrounded by his loving family. On November 19, 1937, he was born in Nelson, Miramichi, New Brunswick. He was the son of the late Robert Mclean and the late Angelina (Gallant) Mclean. Both of his parents passed away before he was born.
Gerald Francis Mclean is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Lois (Cable) Mclean; his sister, Doreen Corcoran; and sons Paul (Joyce), Danny (Rose), David (Suzanne), Gary, Kevin (Fran), and Jason. Lois (Cable) Mclean was married to Gerald Francis Mclean for 65 years. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren, Shannon (husband Greg), Robby, Laura (husband Jason), Erin, Maggie (husband Tyler), Christopher (wife Jamie), Jordan, Garyth, Nancy (husband Emily), Ricky (wife Jessica), Krista, Courtney, Connor, Maya, and Samuel; as well as his great-grandchildren, Jaycee, Braden, Tyson, Evie, Emma, and Addie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Mclean; daughter, Nancy Mclean; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Mclean. His wife, Sharon Mclean, also passed away before him.His family was his first and foremost passion, and family get-togethers were always filled with hilarious anecdotes and hearty laughter. He also enjoyed a good hand of cards, a round of Pictionary, and various other board games. His children and grandchildren brought him great joy, and his sage counsel was sought after in all manner of situations.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Miramichi Regional Hospital in the Emergency Department, 2 West, and the Intensive Care Unit, with a particular thank you to Dr. Slaney, Dr. Black, Dr. Abby, and Dr. Kruger, as well as to all of the nurses, respiratory technicians, and his nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, Jennifer, who displayed an exceptional level of care and compassion in the patient’s final hours. On the Saturday the 17th of June 2023, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, there will be a Celebration of Life held at the Chatham Legion.
