Geneva O. Stanley Death, Obituary – Geneva O. Stanley, who was 85 years old when she died away, was surrounded by her family when she passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Salem Township Hospital. She called the town of Salem her home. Geneva Sterling was born on January 6, 1938 in the community of Bald Knob, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Henry Sterling and Rosie (Osborn) Sterling. She wed Ronald Stanley on February 23, 1973 in Kokomo, Indiana, and he is still living and resides in Salem at present time.
Her family includes her husband, Ron; two sons, Alvin Hayes and wife Paula of Searcy, Arkansas, and Michael Lee Hayes and fiancée Rowena Royo of Collinsville; siblings, Orene James and husband Glenn of Bald Knob, Arkansas, Revon Thompson and husband Jesse of Judsonia, Arkansas, Clyde Sterling of Searcy, Arkansas, Veston Sterling of Judsonia, Arkansas, and Wincle Sterling of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren.
Her grandparents, parents, and four of her brothers—Leon Sterling, Harvey Sterling, Charles Sterling, and Olis Sterling—all went away before she did. She also leaves behind one great grandchild. Her childhood was spent on a farm in the state of Arkansas, where Geneva grew up. She spent the most of her adult working years at Cuneo Press in Kokomo, Indiana, which is located in the state of Indiana. She was a loving spouse as well as a dedicated mother to her family.
Bowling, gardening, and tending a garden full of flowers and veggies were some of her favorite pastimes. Since she was a young girl, Geneva has had a deep affection for singing and music, and particularly for gospel music. On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 2:30 p.m., funeral services for Geneva Stanley will be held at the Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Claude Howell will serve as the officiant for the ceremony.
