Gary Jenkins Death, Obituary – Gary Levon Jenkins was in the Chattanooga Hospice Care Center when he passed away on April 25, 2023. He was surrounded by members of his family at the time of his passing. Gary Herschel Jenkins was brought into the world by his parents Herschel and Naomi Jenkins on July 27, 1954 in the city of Cincinnati in the state of Ohio. While he was growing up on the Westside of Chattanooga, he commuted to and attended public schools located within the Chattanooga area. He attended services at the Greater Community Church of Chattanooga COGIC, where he had been a member for a brief length of time, whenever his health allowed it. He had been a member of the church previously.
In addition to his numerous roles and obligations in the community, he had a long history of serving as a handyman.
Gary’s mother, mother, and father, Herschel and Naomi Jenkins Williams, as well as his grandfather and grandmother, Pop and Granny, all passed away before Gary did. His mother was named Naomi Jenkins Williams. His wife, Darlene Strickland, as well as his son, Larquin Terrell Jenkins, had passed away before to his passing.
He is survived by his sons Onterian “Terry” (Alexis) Jenkins and Brandon Jenkins, his stepfather Arthur Williams, his stepdaughters Alexandria and Felicia, his sister Annette (Reginald) Golson, his niece LaQuina “Tiny” Moon, his nephew Elgin Evans, Sr., his sister-in-law Bett, his brother-in-law Edward, twelve grandchildren, his lifelong friend Willie “Jr.” Bailey, and Robert ”
A memorial ceremony and gathering are scheduled to take place at the New Covenant Fellowship Church in Chattanooga, which can be found at 1326 North Moore Road. These events are scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 29, 2023. The service will start at four in the afternoon and go until seven in the evening.
