Edwin Drury Obituary, Death – On June 2, 2023, Edwin Carroll Drury, 76, died away quietly at home. On July 31, 1946, he was born in Anderson County to the late J C and Leavie May Leathers Drury. He spent 36 years as a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching British basketball. His wife Mildred Winkle Drury, a daughter named Missy (Buzz) Evans of Lexington, Kentucky, two sons named Eddie (Lisa) Drury of Versailles, Kentucky, and James Lillard (Christy) Drury of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, remain in his life. Three sisters Shirley (Warren) Ivey, Lexington, Ky., and Patsy (Kevin) Satterly also survive him. Janet Blissard, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and her large family of nieces and nephews.
David Drury and Thomas Drury, his two sons, predeceased him. and Danny Drury, three sisters, Glenda Joyce Hatchett, Wilma Faye Adams, and Rita Kay Hopper, three brothers, J. W. Drury, Willis Eugene “Billy” Drury, and Wendell Keith Drury. Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 1 p.m., Saffell House Funeral Home, with Bro. Al Peach presiding. Burial will follow at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. On Monday, June 6, 2023, there will be a visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Eddie Drury, James Lillard Drury, Kevin Mitchell, Michael Drury, Richard Wright, and Stevie Drury serve as pallbearers in addition to Donnie Shearer. David Drury, Danny Drury, and Bill Walker are honorary bearers. The arrangements are in the hands of Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home.
