David Pope. Obituary, Death – We all pray for David Pope’s soul to find peace. Give him eternal rest, O Lord, and let light shine upon him always. Through the compassion of God, may the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. On June 1, 2023, David Keeter Pope of Meherrin, Virginia, passed away quietly at home. Age-wise, he was 47. David was born on April 15, 1976 in Columbia, South Carolina. Before landing in Virginia, where he attended Prince Edward County High School and earned his diploma in 1995, he spent his childhood around the world with his military family.
He was a kind man who put in a lot of effort and who adored his friends and family. He was adored a great deal and will be sorely missed. In addition to his mother Susan Sisler, stepfather Harlan “Buzz” Sisler, stepmother Sherry Pope, siblings Carrie Anne (Thomas) Latta, Melissa (James) Elliott, William (Stephanie) Kidd, Amanda Webb, Kelly Pope, and Daniel Pope, paternal uncles Matt (Christy), Mark (Theresa), and Scott (Shelly), paternal aunt Lucy Pope, and maternal grandmother Mary Sisler, David is also survived by his
David’s father Michael Ray Pope, his maternal grandparents Edwin Lloyd and Jeraldine Reeves, his paternal grandparents Donald and Evelyn Pope, his adored paternal uncle Donald Pope, and his maternal aunt Nancy Ferrara were all predeceased. On June 14, 2023, at 1:00 pm, a funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, located at 709 Buffalo Street in Farmville, Virginia 23901. Following the Mass, there will be a Rite of Committal and burial at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 22482 Prince Edward Highway, Rice, Virginia 23966.
