Chris Peacock Obituary, Death – Chris Peacock was the previous Chair of the HBAA and the co-founder and owner of Conference Care. The news of his passing has left everyone at beam, which was formerly known as HBAA, in a state of deep mourning. Chris was a very active member of the executive committee and board of directors of the HBAA for a number of years, serving as the association Chair in 2012 and in the capacity of Treasurer from 2015 till 2018. After then, he kept on being a huge supporter of the association, in particular its fundraising endeavors for all of the charity partners over the years that followed.
In recent years, Chris served as an energetic and effective Chair of the key industry charity Meeting Needs, which beam supports with its own fund-raising initiatives. In addition to creating a highly successful and renowned agency, Chris has also been very successful as the Chair of Meeting Needs. “A light has gone out in our industry this week,” said Sian Sayward, who serves as the chair of beam. Chris is going to be deeply missed by everyone who ever worked with him or knew him. He was a genuine leader whose wisdom, experience, and support would be sorely missed that it is impossible for words to adequately describe how much.
We will always remember him as a respected and valuable member of our board, and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to motivate us.The members of beam would like to extend their deepest condolences and best wishes to Chris’s business partner Andrew Deakin, as well as to the staff at Conference Care and all of Chris’s family and friends, on the occasion of his untimely passing. We hope to be able to include many of these recollections and experiences when we honor and remember Chris at our Forum in July, and we welcome members and colleagues in the industry to share their own memories and anecdotes about Chris in the comments section of this post.
