Charles Nehl Obituary, Death – Charlie Nehl, a 38-year-old husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, passed away abruptly from COVID-19 on November 12, 2020 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On August 9, 1982, Charlie was born, the same day as his mother. He obtained a degree in computer programming from Kirkwood Community College after graduating from Monticello High School in 2000. He was a computer programmer who worked in a variety of places, but his most recent position was with LimoLink in Cedar Rapids.
When Charlie first met Rhiannon Oakes in 2015, they bonded instantly and fell in love. The wedding took place on November 12, 2016. They enjoyed listening to music together, spending time with their kids, going to Devon Townsend Project concerts, and lounging at home together company. The world to them was their family.
Charlie developed a fascination for computers at a young age and would use dial-up modems all night long. This introduced him to a group of buddies he had known since childhood and who he spent many hours with at LAN gatherings in his parents’ basement, commandeering a billiard table to set up their computers. Additionally, Charlie enjoyed playing video, board, and card games. He even won the prestigious title of State Champion for Magic: The Gathering. However, Charlie had interests besides sitting in front of a computer.
He was a lifelong Cubs supporter who never missed a game and knew off the top of his head every possible baseball statistic.
