Antonio Tellez Leon Death, Obituary – On Friday, a murder charge was brought against a 38-year-old man who is suspected of driving under the influence and caused a car accident that resulted in the death of one guy and the serious injury of another person. According to the records from the court, Antonio Tellez Leon of Coachella is additionally charged with one felony count for each of the following: driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury; having a DUI alcohol percentage of 0.08 or more causing bodily injury; and having a DUI alcohol percentage of 0.08 or more causing bodily injury.
This is in addition to the charge of murder. In addition to that, he is being charged with one count of misdemeanor driving while his license was suspended, as well as claims that could increase his sentence for causing serious bodily harm. He is scheduled to make his initial court appearance at the Larson Justice Center in Indio on Friday afternoon.
According to Sgt. Tom Anderson of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the Thermal sheriff’s station of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday to the intersection of Avenue 51 and Chiapas Street after receiving a report of a major injury traffic collision in the area. The collision involved multiple vehicles.
Sgt. Wendy Brito-Gonzalez of the sheriff’s department informed City News Service that the collision involved a gray BMW that was reportedly being driven by Tellez and a blue Toyota Camry that was being driven by two individuals whose identities have not been disclosed.
“Deputies found two occupants of one vehicle with major injuries and began life saving measures; the driver of the second vehicle was uninjured,” Anderson stated in a statement. “Upon their arrival, deputies found two occupants of one vehicle with major injuries.” “Unfortunately, one of the injured parties passed away at the scene of the incident, while the other was taken to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.” Jacob Snellings, a resident of Coachella, was determined to be the deceased by the coroner’s office in Riverside County. Snellings was 21 years old.
According to Anderson, Tellez exhibited symptoms of impairment and was consequently placed under custody after the incident. According to the inmate records, he was arrested and lodged into the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio. He is currently being held there on a bail of one million dollars. According to Anderson, Avenue 51 was closed between Frederick Street and Van Buren Street so that the investigation of the crash could take place.
